Leadership is a much-discussed topic, especially in today’s rapidly changing and challenging digital era. In her new book 'The Leader of 2023', Amrop Turkey Partner Yeşim Toduk discusses the leadership secrets of the digital age.
“We live in an era of rapid change, speed and agility. Every organization is looking for the transformative ‘Leader of the New Digital Age’,” Toduk explains. By interviewing and analyzing successful leaders over the past decade, Yeşim Toduk describes today’s best leader as one who will carry and transform organizations to 2023. She identifies a ‘new leadership model’ which includes participative vision forming that builds loyalty amongst the team. The model places emphasis on building networks and strong relationships with external organizations.
Dr. Toduk will be signing her book at the Management Center Turkey HR Summit 2014 in İstanbul on February 13, 2014.
About the Author
Prof. Dr. Yeşim Toduk graduated from the Middle East Technical Universty Business Administration department. She completed an MBA in Marketing and International Business at the University of Wisconsin on a Fullbright Scholarship. She later completed a PhD in Management and Marketing from Bosphorus University.
Starting her professional career in the family business, she took a break to complete her MBA and PhD studies. She then continued her career in a Marketing role at an electronic retailing company in Washington, D.C. When she returned to Turkey, she joined to an international advertising agency as Account Manager. In 1996, she established the Turkish office of Amrop, the world’s largest partnership of retained executive search firms..
Yeşim Toduk has lectured in several universities in Turkey over the last 20 years. She described a concrete leadership model in her book 'The Real Leadership Roadmap of Turkey', published in 2004, by conducting interviews with more than 200 senior executives (corporate, social, military, women and global).
She is the Founding Chairwoman of the Young Leadership and Entrepreneurs Support and Training Foundation and has contributed to bringing together more than 200 leaders and 2500 university graduates. She is the mother of two sons, Barış and Alp.
